There Are No Good Pick Up Lines!

Hey guys, my name’s Brett Carter. I’ve been a “relationship consultant” for a very long time and I’ve been writing on topics related to dating and relationships for over 6 years.

I’ve put together this site to share with people all I’ve learned in my dealings with women.

And hopefully, I can stop a lot of guys out there from doing the same STUPID things over and over again! Success with women is easy, once you know what you’re doing. Unfortunately, I’ve met a lot of guys who just … to put it nicely … need some help. I’m here to help!

The first order of business. Remember this fellas.

There are NO GOOD PICK UP LINES.

Meeting and vibing with women requires a little more finesse than anything you think you can read verbatim from a website. It all begins with a mindset.

Let me explain why there are no good pick up lines:

First of all, most women see right through that silliness. The ones that seem not to are probably just pretending so they can keep talking to you. Now there’s a great way to start a relationship: you being insincere and her being insincere right back!

Even if a long-term relationship isn’t your goal, there are other ways to strike up a conversation.  If you’re just looking for one night of passion, or even if you just want someone with whom to chat, skip the “good” pick up lines and just be yourself.

That being said, some guys just need a way to start a conversation. Is that a pick up line? Some would say no. Others would say it’s just semantics.

While there is no such thing as good pick up lines, there are ways for guys that might be a bit unsure to start a conversation. Here are a few examples.

(At a Bar) “Is This Seat Taken?”

This gives the woman a chance to respond in a way that is polite, but that will let you know if she is at all interested in talking to you.  Even if that seat is taken, if she’s interested she’ll offer you another one.

(At Work) “What Time Are You Going to Lunch?”

Again, this open ended question allows her the chance to show her interest or to show her lack thereof.  Based on her response, you’ll be able to tell if she might be open to sharing a meal.  Keep in mind that a negative response one day doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try again, but if she repeatedly has other plans, take the hint.

(At a Wedding) “Isn’t Fun Being Single at a Wedding?”

More than likely, she’ll be able to relate to how awkward it can feel, especially when it comes for the humiliating march-all-the-singles-out-to-fight-over-the-flowers-and-garter ritual. Yuck. You can use that shared disdain for being forced to act excited about catching something that you don’t really want to start a conversation.

The point is not to try and trick her into talking to you. Instead, your goal should be to open a conversation to see if there is a mutual interest.

Leave the “good” pick up lines for the guys that give all other guys a bad name. If you want to talk to a woman, just do it.
